Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us.

Last updated July 20, 2026

Dose Amigo (“Dose Amigo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a medication reminder app built on a simple premise: your health routine is yours, and so is your data. Dose Amigo is currently developed and operated by an independent developer, rather than a registered company. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

The short version

Dose Amigo is designed to work entirely on your device. We don’t collect what your medications are, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t show ads. This policy explains the narrow set of technical information we do collect to keep the app running reliably.

This policy applies to the Dose Amigo mobile application and this website. It does not apply to third-party services we link to, such as the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Introduction

We built Dose Amigo around a “privacy by design” principle: collect as little as possible, keep sensitive information on your device by default, and always ask before doing anything else with your data. This document is written to be readable without a law degree — if anything here is unclear, contact us and we’ll explain it properly.

Information We Collect

We separate what we collect into two categories: a small set of technical details that help the app function, and your actual medication information, which we treat very differently.

What we may collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:

  • Email address — only if you choose to create an account in a future version of the app.
  • Device information — device model and hardware type, used for compatibility and bug fixing.
  • App version — so we know which version you’re reporting an issue from.
  • Operating system — iOS or Android version, for compatibility.
  • Crash reports — technical logs generated automatically if the app crashes, to help us fix the underlying bug.
  • Anonymous analytics — only if you consent (see Analytics below).
  • Subscription status — whether you have an active free or paid plan.
  • RevenueCat customer identifier — an anonymous ID used to manage subscriptions (see Subscriptions).
  • Push notification token — a device identifier used solely to deliver your reminder notifications.
  • Time zone — used to schedule reminders at the correct local time.
  • Language — used to display the app in your preferred language.

What we do NOT collect

We never collect your health information

Dose Amigo does not collect, transmit, or have access to the contents of your medication schedule, your health information, or anything that would identify your medical history.

Specifically, we do not collect:

  • Medication names, dosages, or schedule contents
  • Personal journal or notes data you enter in the app
  • Medical records of any kind
  • Health conditions or diagnoses
  • Doctor or healthcare provider information
  • Prescription details
  • Your contacts
  • Photos
  • Camera access
  • Microphone access
  • Location data

If a future version of the app introduces a feature that would require access to any of the above, we will update this policy and ask for your explicit, informed consent before collecting it.

Offline First

Dose Amigo stores your medication data primarily on your device, not on our servers. Your schedule, history, and notes live locally, encrypted using your device’s built-in storage protections.

Cloud sync is opt-in, always

Any future cloud synchronization feature will be entirely optional and will always require your explicit, separate consent before any medication data leaves your device.

Analytics

We may use anonymous, aggregated analytics to understand how the app is used at a high level — for example, which screens are opened most often — so we can improve the experience. This data is:

  • Collected only after you consent to it, typically during onboarding or in Settings.
  • Not linked to your medication content in any way.
  • Aggregated, meaning it describes overall usage patterns, not individual behavior tied to your identity.

You can withdraw analytics consent at any time from the app’s Settings screen.

No Ads

Dose Amigo does not display third-party advertisements, and we do not share your information with advertising networks. Our business model is built on optional subscriptions, not attention or ad revenue.

Subscriptions

Dose Amigo uses RevenueCat, a subscription management platform, to handle purchases, entitlements, and renewals. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated customer identifier and your purchase/subscription status — it does not receive your medication data.

All billing is processed directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. We do not directly collect or store your payment card details; that information is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.

Notifications

Reminder notifications are scheduled and processed locally on your device. When it’s time for a dose, your device generates the notification itself — the contents of your medication reminders are not sent through our servers to be delivered.

Permissions

We ask for notification permissions so Dose Amigo can send you reminders at the times you schedule. We do not request camera, microphone, contacts, or location permissions, because the app doesn’t need them to function.

Data Security

We take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect the limited information we do collect:

  • Encryption of data both on your device and in transit.
  • Secure communication between the app and any of our services, exclusively over HTTPS.
  • Access to any systems that process user data is limited to what is operationally necessary.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to apply current best practices throughout the app.

Data Retention

Technical information (such as crash reports and anonymous analytics) is retained only as long as necessary to serve the purpose it was collected for, and is periodically deleted or aggregated beyond individual identification. If you create an account in a future version of the app, account-related information is retained until you delete your account or request deletion.

Children’s Privacy

Dose Amigo is not directed at, or intended for use by, children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

International Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws such as the GDPR, the following applies:

  • Our legal basis for processing the limited data described above is typically consent (for analytics) or legitimate interest (for core functionality like crash reporting and subscription management).
  • The operator of Dose Amigo acts as the data controller for information collected through the app and this website.
  • You have the rights described below regardless of where you live, and we aim to honor them consistently worldwide.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information, subject to any legal retention requirements.
  • Port your data to another service in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent for any processing that relies on consent, such as analytics, at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us and we will respond as quickly as we can.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves. We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and for material changes, we’ll provide a more prominent notice in the app.
